How do you celebrate your birthday? With a spa weekend? A day trip? A dinner reservation? There are endless options, but designer Lisa Nieves’ client celebrated her 30th in the best way: with a whole-home installation. Lisa ushered the birthday girl into her newly-transformed space and revealed an ultra-glam design with a stunning combination of matte black wood and glossy marble flooring, lustrous velvet accents, high-sheen fabrics, and lots of bling throughout. It was bachelorette pad perfection, and the client could not have been more ecstatic with the result.
A 29-year-old first-time homeowner, she had come to Lisa months prior wanting to create a space that was fun and trendy, but that could grow with her into the future. She needed an expert’s guidance to transform her new home into a chic haven that reflected her personal style, and Lisa was the perfect person to do that. As a seasoned designer, Lisa is well-known for creating beautiful and functional spaces that reflect her clients’ individual personalities and tastes. For this project, the client’s design style was influenced by her love of fashion and fitness. A body-builder and gym owner, she’s a certified #girlboss, but she has a soft, girly side as well and wanted both sides reflected in her home.
When planning the design, Lisa first convinced the client to invest in the bones of the home. She updated the staircase with sleek, stainless-steel railings, created custom cabinetry for the kitchen, and added chic glass barn doors in front of the study. The result of these changes, along with the added furnishings, reflect the owner’s personality to a tee: feminine, fashion-forward, and infused with just the right amount of edginess.
The study is another perfect example, and one of the client’s favorite rooms in the house. Featuring eye-catching graphic wallpaper, Chanel-inspired artwork, Lucite accents, and luxe white fur stools contrasted against black floors, it’s a stunning combination of timeless glamour and modern edge. Lisa’s favorite feature in the house, however, is in the master bedroom. After painting the ceiling a rich charcoal gray, she then went over it with a custom treatment to add lots and lots of glitter to it, making it look like a sparkling starry night.
Other notable features in the home include custom lighting, textural wallcoverings, and incredible art. It’s no wonder this modern bachelorette pad earned the Grand Aurora Award for the Best Interior Design of a Custom/Spec Home Priced $1,000,000 to $2,000,000.
