When it comes to unique home trends, who better to trust than Clive Daniel Home interior designers Michael Scott and Thomas Riker? It’s no surprise, then, that the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva asked the team to speak at their “Peek at the Unique Home Trends” event this past weekend. During the event, hundreds of guests gathered to listen to premier local providers discuss their expertise in home design and construction, décor, and landscaping. “It was a great event, and we loved seeing the audience’s excitement at seeing Clive Daniel Home represented in Sanibel,” Thomas said.
During their presentation, Michael and Thomas shared ten of the top design trends for 2022, from Parisian-inspired décor to home bars to bold patterns and color—and everything in between. The interior design trends listed are not just popular on a national level, either, but also right here in Southwest Florida.

Texture
Mastering a balanced mix of texture can make even the simplest room look layered and luxe. When it comes to texture, more is more! At Clive Daniel Home, we’ve been seeing soft velvets contrasted against natural mohair, boucle fabrics, and woven furniture to create warm, inviting spaces.
Curved Furniture
While structured, mid-century modern silhouettes will always be in, curved furniture is definitely having a moment. Softer, curved lines are more refined, and in addition to being practical, are striking in both bold and traditional designs.
Nature-Inspired Hues
As we shared at the start of 2022, nature-inspired hues are trending bigtime. The colors of the great outdoors—whether deep greens, browns, sands, or blues—are the new neutrals.
