Ryann Aoukar is an esteemed interior designer and Associate Professor with over two decades of experience in product design, interior architecture, and large-scale project management. He holds a master’s degree in Product Design from ESAD, The Superior School of Art and Design in France, and a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture from the Beaux Arts School of Design, where he graduated with honors.
Throughout his career, Ryann has held key roles in prestigious firms such as OMA (Rem Koolhaas), Gensler, and Lemay & Ass, working on high-profile projects across the globe. His portfolio includes large-scale residential, commercial, and hospitality designs, such as the W Hotel in Montreal, Goldman Sachs in New York, and Verizon’s New York office, to name a few. In his role as Lead Designer at IDDI Design Group in Miami, he led multi-family residential projects, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in the design industry.
Ryann’s academic career is equally distinguished. As an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Architecture & Design, he teaches courses in advanced interior architecture, digital media representation, and digital fabrication. His passion for design extends into his teaching, where he inspires students to explore innovative solutions and bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Ryann has also been recognized for his product designs, holding patents for several innovative pieces, including the Yabaco Lounge Chair and the Lift Cutting Board Collection. He has received numerous accolades, including the Good Design Award from the Athenaeum Museum in Chicago and multiple first-place prizes at international design shows.
