With over 40 years of experience, Michael Shapiro is a seasoned interior designer whose journey began in 1976 at his father’s furniture store. A graduate of the prestigious New York School of Interior Design, Michael also studied photography at esteemed art colleges in Chicago and Philadelphia, blending visual artistry with spatial innovation.

Throughout his career, Michael has crafted striking, practical, and innovative spaces, guided by the belief that every element should serve a functional or aesthetic purpose. His design approach is holistic and immersive, focusing on every detail—from layout to lighting and flow. Michael collaborates closely with his clients, fostering an open dialogue that involves them at every stage of the design process. He thrives on solving unique challenges, often taking bold aesthetic risks, and considers a project truly successful when his clients feel a sense of ownership over the final creation.

Michael’s creativity extends beyond interior spaces into photography and photo editing, showcasing his multifaceted artistic talents. In 2000, after 24 years dedicated to interior design, he founded “Design Concepts International,” a furniture manufacturing company based in Cebu, Philippines. Employing over 200 artisans, the company specializes in custom-designed furniture crafted from natural materials. His exclusive collection was sold in 16 designer showrooms across major U.S. cities, earning acclaim for its meticulous craftsmanship and timeless style.

Michael’s comprehensive approach to design allows him to envision every aspect of a space, creating environments that are not only visually stunning but also highly functional. His dedication to detail and commitment to quality have earned him an impressive list of high-profile clients, including Michael Jordan, Dionne Warwick, Tuesday Weld, Dudley Moore, Phyllis Morris, Dick Clark, Harold Carmichael, Jim McMahon, and Rose Ann Scamardella (better known as Roseanne Roseannadanna).
