DESIGNER Q&A: GET TO KNOW JEAN LOSIER
At Clive Daniel Home, our design team is our greatest asset. Our interior designers are some of the best in the business and have helped create some of the most stunning spaces in all of Florida—from private residences and spec homes to gorgeous hotels and five-star restaurants.
Jean Losier has been an interior designer for more than two decades, and has been with Clive Daniel Home since 2015. Her experience includes owning and operating her own design firm, designing models for top builders and developers, completing award-winning residential renovations, and much, much more. She is adept at bringing warmth and depth into each space she works on, and her most recent project, a stunning model at the Grandview, is a great example of this.

Current design inspiration:
Fabrics are always a go-to inspiration for a project. Finding the right color combination, patterns, or textures can create a great design direction!
Favorite design trend:
I love to see mixed textures in a space, so I’m glad that’s still big in 2023. I’m also excited that we are now seeing bolder patterns and color in design.
Design pet peeve:
The biggest mistake clients make when making furniture selections on their own is scale. Selecting furniture while walking through a showroom can be difficult because the furniture is in a large setting with differing ceiling heights, so it’s common to assume that a piece is larger or smaller than it is.
In addition to fitting in one’s space, furniture selections must also be scaled in proportion to one another. I have seen too many small cocktail tables in the middle of a room and had to explain why certain pieces work/don’t work together in a space, how to understand traffic patterns in a space, the importance of ceiling heights, and putting the pieces to scale in a floor plan.
Most memorable project:
I love working on model homes and having the design freedom to come up with something new and different, but I just finished selections with a client for their whole home in Fiddler’s Creek and enjoyed every moment and challenge. The clients were absolutely delightful, and they truly appreciated having a designer personalize a home just for them. That is what makes it truly gratifying to be a designer.
Personal design style:
I know some designers in the industry like to be known for a certain design style that comes naturally to them, and customers will seek them out because they like that look. Personally, I like all different styles and love the challenge of figuring out a unique style for each project, whether that be contemporary, transitional, or coastal. I have always believed it’s not about me and my style; it’s about the customer and finding a style that reflects them and their lifestyle.
