BEFORE & AFTER: AN OCEAN-INSPIRED REMODEL IN LIGHTHOUSE PT.
When Jodi Lurcott and Bobby Murr’s clients bought this spacious 5,000 square foot home in Lighthouse Point, it had everything they were looking for: panoramic waterfront views, abundant natural light, and a great outdoor entertaining area. But, its interior was outdated and overdone, featuring strong Tuscan influences and lots of wood accents. The couple wanted their home to better reflect their personalities and love of the water, so Jodi and Bobby spent time getting to know them and their needs, and were able to plan a complete interior remodel that suited them perfectly.
In the great room, the designers replaced the original stone fireplace and rounded alcove built-ins with a sleek floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace surround and modern white shelving. White sofas and teal chairs complete the space, along with pops of blue and gold art and decor. “The clients’ love color is evident throughout the design,” said Jodi.
The great room’s color palette continues into the kitchen, where the designers took out the original brown cabinets and countertops and replaced them with white cabinets and a blue, ocean-inspired backsplash. They also replaced the dining lighting with a modern glass pendant chandelier. The overall look is bright and fresh and carries throughout the whole home.
The master bathroom also received a complete overhaul. Like the original kitchen, it had wood cabinets and dark countertops. It also had an inconvenient layout, which Jodi and Bobby completely reconfigured. The new bathroom features stunning teal mosaic backgrounds, a soft metallic vanity, and striking gold details throughout.
From the bathrooms to the bedrooms and every room in between, each corner of the home is filled with furnishings, accessories, and custom art that reflects the homeowners, and they couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
