PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: CONTEMPORARY LIVING IN NAPLES
For this project, interior designer Sherie Weidner created a colorful, livable space for her clients using elegant pieces that elevate the everyday. The home is simple, sophisticated, relaxed, and refined. Colorful accessories, rugs, draperies, and various accents form a cohesive design theme throughout, giving the space a comfortable contemporary feel.
The client’s love of color drove the design scheme from the beginning. One of the first pieces Sherie selected was the 10×12’ custom silk and wool rug in the great room. Its rich blue, orange, and yellow tones ended up igniting the use of color in the rest of the home. The great room’s pillows and draperies continue the color scheme, while the fabric of the immense Renee Cazares sofa and the taupe leather Adriana Hoyos side chairs are neutral enough to highlight the more vibrant tones.
The adjacent kitchen continues the contemporary feel of the great room, with custom metal and faux leather counter stools, a marble back splash, and gold hardware. The dining area also features gold accents, as well as a beautiful blue-toned sideboard and art that tie into the overall color palette. Meanwhile, the oblong dining table with a Dekton marble top and gorgeous mink finish is the central focus.
Off the great room, a custom glass and steel door provides an organic feel to the entrance of the home office, which has a generous sized desk, sleeper sofa, and reclining side chair. The custom feature wall includes floating shelves with inset lighting that frames out the artwork.
Outside, the expansive lanai is graced with luxe seating with gorgeous rope detailing. The decorative accessories bring the blues, oranges and greens gracing the interior to the outdoor living spaces.
The clients’ reaction upon seeing the result? “We feel like we are living in the Ritz Carlton!”
