When it comes to re-designing a home, there are renovations and there are transformations. The home we’re featuring here falls into the latter group. Award-winning Clive Daniel Home interior designer Sherie Weidner took the home from old world Italian to of-the-moment Californian.
The homeowners came to Sherie with the initial goal of “de-Tuscanizing” their space. Both the interiors and exterior of the home featured strong Mediterranean influences; arches, columns, and crown molding were prominent throughout. Sherie came up with an extensive plan for the home, expanding the scope of work from a small update to a complete makeover.
The process began with removing all the Tuscan accents and replacing them with updated ones. Sherie took out the crown molding and soffits to heighten the ceilings, then removed all the arches and pillars to create a clean, modern backdrop. She also removed the marble flooring and replaced it with beautiful European white oak.
Upon entering the home, one used to be ushered into a formal living room. Now, the space serves as a sophisticated chat room with a gorgeous Florim Sahara Noir stone wall and chic furnishings.
The remodel also brought the kitchen into the 2020s. The kitchen footprint was revamped and expanded, removing dividing walls, relocating windows, and creating a functioning coffee bar for the coffee-loving homeowners. In addition, the butler’s pantry was removed to make room for a larger pantry and a wider hallway into the great room. One of the kitchen’s most striking features is the black and white Euclid tile backsplash, complemented by black and white cabinetry and gold accents and hardware. A sleek L-shaped island flanked by geometric counter stools round out the room’s luxe look.
The home’s outdoor living area is no less impressive. The lanai was entirely renovated with new marble flooring, a reconfigured pool with an added spa, and contemporary furniture. An outdoor feature wall was designed for the ultimate entertainment experience, along with an outdoor fireplace and porcelain tile surround.
