”Nothing lights me up more than to create a space my clients love to come home to.
The daughter of an interior designer, Brooklyn-born Laureen Edelson received her initial training as a young girl, helping her mother source fabrics and furnishings for clients at the D&D building in NYC. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. At 21, she launched the first bridal and prom jewelry company in the US, merchandising jewelry to bridal stores. She was then recruited by Donna Karan to launch DKNY jewelry and accessories in the early 1990s. At 30, she was the youngest director at Donna Karan.
Since 2002, Laureen has been primarily involved in residential interior design, completing projects in New England, New Jersey, New York, and California. She was also involved in luxury publishing for interior designers and moved to Florida in 2017 with hubby and sons, aged 25 and 19.
Laureen approaches design by blending color, scale, function and texture to create a harmonious, gorgeous result. Her strengths lie in use of color and the ability to add those key pieces to a room for that wow factor. If a client is unsure of her design aesthetic and colors, the first place she visits is the closet. What’s hanging in their closet typically reflects what a client would love in their home.
