Monica Lukas

Interior Designer

My focus is on beauty, comfort, function and warmth—being sure to integrate the parts of the client's life that speaks to them.

Monica Lukas is an experienced designer, brand builder, and business owner. She recently moved to Naples, Florida in early 2022 from Newport Beach California, where she spent the last few years partnered with a general contractor renovating homes and working in luxury home staging for high-end real estate brokers, agents, developers, and custom home builders. Prior to living on the west coast, Monica spent most of her life in the Cleveland Ohio area, where she worked in advertising, publishing, and as a creative strategist–building brands and presenting recommendations to CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.

Monica has had a passion for interior design, furniture design, and art throughout her life, which she initially explored while renovating and rebuilding her c. 1836 estate and working on freelance residential and commercial design projects. After she took a job for a custom-built furniture manufacturer, her passion became an obsession. She left the corporate world and followed her dream to open her own business, MOD: matter of design, a brick-and-mortar, made-in-the-USA furniture brand that offered custom interior design services. She focused on promoting locally-made products, which helped earn the store “Best Furniture Store” and “Best Service” awards from customers.

Monica is proud of her diverse portfolio of creative work and personal achievements, which include raising her three daughters, running 30+ marathons, painting custom murals, and being invited to show her paintings and photography at numerous juried art shows.

When working with clients, she prides herself on being able to connect with people and create environments that encompass the homeowners’ personalities and preferences. “Whether designing one room, developing an entire floor plan or renovating an out-of-date space, my focus is on beauty, comfort, function and warmth—being sure to integrate the parts of their life that speaks to them,” she said. “I listen, process, and communicate a vision that touches on all parts of the whole.”
