Mariuxi Portal

Interior Designer Allied ASID

"I love to transform spaces, to be able to get the concept in my head and later be able to see them as reality."

Mariuxi Portal, Allied ASID, has always desired to have beautiful, functional spaces accessible to everyone, regardless of any possible budget limitations. Her unique approach includes an initial design in black and white, whereby the finishes will then determine the final budget. She loves the number of finishes available that work within virtually any budget.

Prior to joining Clive Daniel Home, Ms. Portal’s lengthy portfolio includes stops at several prestigious firms, as well as work on numerous noteworthy projects. As Director and President of MMP Build & Design in Miramar, Florida, she specialized in project management, overseeing the interior design of complete remodels and furnishings for high rise building units. Many of her projects took her overseas to Panama, Curacao, Ecuador and Colombia. Ms. Portal has also done hospitality projects with MMP, notably as part of the team to remodel the famed Fontainebleau Resort at Miami Beach.

Working with FIDM Theme Design Home Theatre, Ms. Portal contributed to multimillion dollar interior design projects throughout the US, managing the team to accomplish extraordinary presentations, which included helping to close the contract and later coordinate with all vendors, contractors, and subcontractors to complete the finished project.

A native of Ecuador and the youngest of nine children, Mariuxi graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, with a major in interior design and minor in business administration. Upon graduation, she visited family in Ecuador and while there completed numerous interior design projects in high end residential, commercial, offices, and hospitality. This became the backbone and launchpad of her career. Portal moved to Miami in 1995 to get married and start a family while also continuing her design career, managing several projects in South America focusing primarily on retail design.

Besides her degree and two years of architectural studies at Woodbury University in Los Angeles, Ms. Portal has also completed programs in Project Management and Six Sigma at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Living in Miramar, Florida for the past 25 years, Mariuxi also enjoys canoeing and volunteering at the Children’s Hospital.
