Lora Potts

Hospitality Manager

"Great Interior Design is having the creativity, vision, and the ability to turn something average into something spectacular."

Originally from Flint, Michigan, Lora Potts earned her BA in Interior Design from Michigan State University. Today, after more than 30 years’ experience in all areas of residential and commercial interior design, Lora has earned the highest professional designations for her profession, holding licenses in both Florida and Maryland, and winning scores of awards along the way.

At Design Works of SW Florida in Bonita Springs, Lora was Owner/Director of Design for over 22 years, leading a design staff of nine on local and national residential and commercial projects. Helping to establish the first Lee County Interior Design education college program, Lora wrote and taught the first interior design classes at Southwest Florida College, earning the program the prestigious NCIDQ certification.

“Interior Design is like putting together a difficult puzzle with a thousand pieces with challenges around every corner,” she says. “It is gratifying to understand the client’s needs and translate their thoughts and desires into a distinctive interior that is luxurious, creative and livable.”

A Floridian since 1986, Lora enjoys fine art shows, painting, traveling, skiing, and designing custom dog collars for her two very regal standard poodles, Louie and Casper.
