”It’s important to me to be able to create functional yet inspired spaces that my clients can joyfully refer to as the heart of their homes.
Andrew “Drew” Cappella was born and raised in Connecticut. He studied graphic design at Pratt Institute in New York and began his career as an art director for Macy’s. After four years, however, Drew realized the cutthroat world of advertising was not for him, and he decided to pursue his interest in interior design instead. He ended up joining one of Chicago’s most respected kitchen design firms, and “it was love at first project.”
Since then, Drew has spent nearly three decades deepening his appreciation and understanding of each facet of interior design. “It’s important to me to be able to create functional yet inspired spaces that my clients can joyfully refer to as the heart of their homes,” he said. “I take the design process seriously—maximizing every inch of space and selecting materials and backgrounds that complement each other perfectly.”
In 2015, Drew and his partner moved to Boston, which exposed him to new opportunities to learn about furniture. He worked for a small boutique company that specializes in custom cabinetry and fine modern furniture imported from Italy. “It was a fantastic learning and career-affirming experience,” he said. “Boston will always hold a special place in my heart.”
To further his career goals, Drew moved down to Sarasota in early 2022 to join Clive Daniel Home (and to enjoy the warm weather). He continues to enjoy mixing colors, textures, shapes, and patterns to create esthetically pleasing and visually stimulating environments. Whether he’s designing a single room or an entire home, Drew achieves his clients’ project wishlists while offering his professional experience and thoughtful suggestions. “No matter the project, I aim to turn your space into the haven of your dreams to enjoy for years and years to come.”
